Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit have arrested a Shallotte man on multiple heroin-related charges after a month long investigation. Justin Hashaim Bland, 21, of Hale Swamp Road in Shallotte was charged Friday with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver heroin, conspiracy to sell and deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Shallotte man was arrested after allegedly filing a false claim in an effort to be compensated for damage previously done to his vehicle. Department of Insurance criminal investigators say that on August 15 Christopher Eric Grissett, 41, purchased a used vehicle with body damage, then filed a claim four days later with the National General Insurance Company for an alleged deer collision.

A Brunswick County man will be sentenced in November after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and felony child abuse in the death of his four-month-old son.
